Niall  welcomes One Direction band mates to Ireland’s O2 this March

Simon Cowell’s creative judgement is sometimes skewed. Think about his choice in high-waist trousers and scooping black tank tops. But, to hand it to the guy, it was spot on when he decided to put together a group of solo male artists to create One Direction. From their first audition as a group, we girls (1.6 million of us if record sales are anything to go by) have been fawning over their boyish playacting, sculpted cheekbones and velvety smiles. They are the business – we know it, YouTube knows it, and so do the British public, who awarded “What makes you Beautiful” the best single of the year at the 2012 Brit Awards. During their acceptance speech, Liam – the tall, dreamy one from Wolverhampton – announced a 15-date UK and Ireland Arena tour.

But following their spectacular breakthrough in the United States and Australasia, the group added extra dates and venues. In the UK and Ireland alone, tickets sales reached 300,000 within a day of release.

The coiffed, pruned and groomed teenage sensation quintet will arrive in Ireland’s O2 arena this March for a two night stint before leaving for the UK.  It’s a homecoming for Niall, who will get a chance to roll out an Irish welcome to band mates Zayn, Harry, Liam and Louis.

The hotly anticipated live show will give fans the opportunity of a lifetime to hear their favourite One Direction songs in person and live.  The arena will be packed to capacity, which will undoubtedly raise the electricity and vibe of the concert. It’s a not-to-be missed event for loyal One Direction fans, who will get a chance to see the group that has been hailed at their generation’s version of the Base City Rollers, the epic seventies boy band.
